J’ai cette impression dérangeante que les familles des 138 personnes mortes en Iraq hier, 4 janvier, sous les bombes des insurgés de “plus en plus marginaux” ont une vision un tantinet différente sur ce point.
Alors donc, on n’est pas loin des “last throes of the insurgency” de Cheney du mois de juin dernier, et d’une annonce qui tient plus de la foi que de la vérité. Et c’est ce même Cheney qui tente de défendre tant bien que mal les écoutes plus ou moins légales de citoyens américains ordonnées par Bush, sans l’approbation d’une court de justice depuis les semaines qui suivirent le 11 septembre 2001…
I got the disturbing feeling the families of the 138 peoples who fell yesterday in Iraq , January 4th, under the bombs of the “more and more marginalized” insurgents will beg to differ on that point.
And so, here we have a statement, not so unlike Cheney’s june ‘05, “last throes of the insurgency“, that is more dealing with faith than with truth. And this very Cheney is trying to defend the more or less legal eavesdrops without any court warrant, Bush authortized in the weeks after 9/11.
All of us are grateful that our nation has gone four years and four months without another 9/11, […] America has been protected not by luck, but by sensible policy decisions … by decisive action at home and abroad … and by round-the-clock efforts on the part of people in law enforcement, intelligence, the military and homeland security.

Certes, aucun terroriste n’a crashé un avion sur le sol US depuis 2001. Mais je voudrais juste rappeler 2 chiffres: 2986 et 2188. Etrangement proches, n’est ce pas ? Le premier est le nombre de victimes des attentats du 11 septembre. Le second est le nombre de victimes américaines de la politique de Bush et Cheney en réponse à ces attentats…
True, no terrorist crashed a plane on US soil since 2001. But I’d like to mention 2 numbers : 2986 and 2188. Surprisingly close from each others, aren’t they ? The first one is the number of fatalities of the attacks of 9/11. The second one is the number of american victims of Bush’s and Cheney’s policies to answer those attacks…
